Banh Mi Saigon remains one of my favorites in all the city. Phenomenal value, good cold cuts and pickles, pillowy toasty bread. #4, cold-cut pate, and #1, roast ground pork, are my go-tos. Inflation makes a standard order of two half-sandwiches $9 (my 2017 review mentions $5.25), which remains a steal. We picked up 26 sandwiches to cater a party, and it was a MASSIVE hit. So many people asked where it was from. The workers packed the sandwiches clearly in seven bags, and it was a hilarious haul to truck back by subway.

this place was surprisingly really big for a fast restaurant in chinatown. it was fairly spacious and extended really far back into the kitchen. ordering was extremely easy, and I liked how they provide you with a ticketed number so that you can pick up your order once you're called. you can stand and eat on their spacious counter tops or take to go, which is very convenient. sandwich itself was fairly priced at $9, considering how big it was. I was not used to the minced bbq pork, as most places slice up the pork. I feel like they need to add a little more sauce, but overall it was a tasty and filling sandwich.

I grew up 3 blocks from the famous Ba Xuyen in Brooklyn, so I've been hard pressed to find something that can compete, but Banh Mi Saigon is running stiff competition. This place has been open since I was a kid (so for about 15-20 years), and I can see why the locals and hipsters keep coming back. Fair prices, quick service, and no frills. I came on a nondescript Wednesday late morning, and there were already 4 people queuing/waiting at any given time. I went for the lemongrass pork banh mi and since they were on offer, some of their fresh shrimp chips, which were a steal. I unfortunately could only consume it once I got to work about an hour later, and let me tell you, it was still one of the best lemongrass pork banh mi's I've had. My colleague also commented that the shrimp chips were perfect for her -- extremely crunchy, while not being too salty or oily. Overall, I have no complaints and have a new favourite if I ever crave banh mi in the city.

Very delicious Banh Mi at a very low price. Get a few, don't be foolish like me and only get one and realize your mistake much later when you finally tried it. The bread is really fresh and all the flavors of the Banh Mi play really well together. They have no seating, but you can always lean on the side counters they have and eat while standing.

Really delicious spot for banh mi sandwiches! They have a huge variety from the classic barbecue pork to curry chicken and even beef stew (per my friends, the beef tastes like pho!). The sandwiches are quite large and cut in half, and was enough for me for dinner! I got the barbecue pork ($10), which was super succulent and well flavored. I got mine with extra pickled veggies (an additional dollar), though I'd maybe recommend getting extra meat instead (+$2) as they give a good amount of veggies already. I also wouldn't sleep on the other kinds of sandwiches that they have. I had a bite of the curry chicken and thought it was delicious / the one I'd get next time! I do wish they'd open later, as they close at 5:30 pm every day, so it was hard to squeeze this in for after dinner, but I'm glad we did! The restaurant itself is small with limited seating, so it's more of a takeout place. The line (if any) moves quickly, and the service was fast and efficient.
